Samantha Mohr
In her first pageant, at the suggestion of another fellow UGA students, Mohr won the Miss Columbus 1985 title. The title made her eligible to participate in into the Miss Georgia pageant in June 1985. Mohr won the competition on the 22nd of June in 1985. Mohr took home over $3500 in scholarships and other prize money at the pageant for the state. She was Miss Georgia as well as made public appearances throughout Georgia in the course of her duties. Mohr participated as Georgia in Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September 1985. Computer-generated models successfully identified the likelihood that Susan Akin would be named Miss America, Mohr's odds were calculated at 22: 1. Mohr was not on the top 10 list of candidates for the National crown. Mohr's tenure as Miss Georgia lasted until she crowned her successor, Marlesa Ball, as Miss Georgia 1986 on June 28th, 1986.
